Organization or in any Excise
District under the jurisdiction of

Qualification Required:
Madhyamik pass from West
Bengal Board of Secondary
Education or equivalent under
State/ Central Govt.
Age Limits: Candidates must be
between 18yrs to 27yrs as on
01-01-2013 . Upper age
relaxation for SC/ST—5yrs; OBC
—3yrs. Others—as per norms.
Age relaxation is applicable for
candidates of West Bengal only.
Pay scale: Rs.5400—25200 with
Grade pay: Rs.2600 per month
plus other allowances.
Physical Standards of the
Candidates:—
Height: For Male candidates—167
cms (160 cms for Gorkhas,
Garwalies, Rajbanshis and ST)
Height: For Female Candidates —
160 cms (152cms for Gorkhas,
Garwalies, Rajbanshis and ST)
Chest (Unexpanded/ Expanded):
For Male candidates only—
78cms/ 83cms (76cms/81cms for
Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis
and ST)
Weight: Proportionate to Age
and Height as per medical
standard, for both male and
female.
Selection of the Candidates will
be through Physical
measurement Test (PMT),
Physical Efficiency Test
(PET),Written Examination and
Interview. Finally there will be
Medical examination for fitness.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) –
i) For Male Candidates:- Long
distance run 1600 meters in
maximum 06 minute and 30
seconds.
ii) For Female Candidates:- Long
distance run 400 meters in
maximum 02 minutes.
Written Examination (Full Marks:
90)—
Those who qualify in PMT and
PET will be asked to appear in
Written Examination. The
Written Examination will be
conducted by the West Bengal
Police Recruitment Board. The
Written Examination will have
objective type questions (MCQ)
on General Awareness and
General Knowledge, English,
Elementary Mathematics and
Reasoning. The candidates will
have to fill up the correct blank
spaces against a question
number on the machine readable
OMR answer sheet.
Interview (Full marks: 10)
Those who qualify in the written
test, will be eligible for interview.
In the interview, the general
awareness of the candidate will
be tested. The interview will be
conducted by West Bengal Police
Recruitment Board through
Range Recruitment Boards.

fee in form of Draft/ Postal
Order.
Eligible Candidates may submit

up in their own handwriting
along with the following
enclosures— Educational
Qualification certificates, Age
Proof, Caste Certificate, 3 Nos.
passport size photograph (One
copy is to be pasted on the form
and other two copies enclosed
after writing Application Form

in form of Draft/ Postal Order
(Not required in case of SC/ST/
Exempted categories of West
Bengal but they should submit
Attested copies of Caste
Certificate otherwise their
application will be rejected)
Application fee: Candidates must
deposit a fee of Rs. 150/-
(Rupees one hundred fifty only)
in the form of A/C Payee
Demand Draft from any
Nationalized Bank / IPO
purchased in favour of “West
Bengal Police Recruitment
Board” payable at Kolkata.
SC/ST/Exempted categories of
West Bengal do not require to
pay application fee. SC/ST
Candidates of Other States
should apply as General
candidates.

cm X 26 cm. The application
form should not be folded. The
envelope should be properly
